The Best Non-Dairy Substitutes

About four years ago, I found out that my body could not tolerate dairy. Since then, I have tried just about every dairy substitute out there because, even though my body doesn’t like dairy, I still crave it every once in a while. So here are some of the best dairy replacements that I have found through much trial and error, along with the links to their websites:

  • Cream Cheese—Kite Hill (available at Whole Foods, Wegmans, and some Giant stores). Available flavors: plain, jalapeno, chive, and everything.

  • Milk—So Delicious Organic Almond/Cashew Milk (available at Whole Foods). Available in Original Unsweetened or Vanilla. Also Mooala (available at Giant stores). Available in Vanilla Almond milk or Banana milk (trust me, it’s better than it sounds).

  • Ice Cream—Luna & Larry’s Coconut Bliss Organic Coconut Milk Ice Cream (available at Whole Foods, Giant stores, and Wegmans). It’s hard to taste the coconut and it’s available in a wide variety of flavors. Not only does it taste the best, it uses organic, clean ingredients! Nature’s Promise (The Giant Brand of coconut milk ice cream) is amazing, as well. My favorite flavors are the Mint Chocolate Chip and Himalayan Salted Caramel (available only at Giant stores), So Delicious also has a wide variety of dairy-free ice creams and mousse (available at Whole Foods and Giant stores).

  • Coffee Creamer—Nestle Sweet Crème tastes the closest to traditional dairy creamer (available at Giant stores), but if you’re looking for an organic option, So Delicious has an organic Coconut Milk creamer, as well (available in Whole Foods and Giant stores).

  • Chocolate Candies—UnReal Chocolate Gems are just like M&Ms, except better. They have little quinoa crunchies in them that make them even more delectable than traditional M&Ms. This company also make peanut butter cups (available at Whole Foods and Wegmans). Justin's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are another good option for non-dairy chocolate treats (available at Giant stores, Whole Foods, and Wegmans).

Let me know in the comments if there are any other non-dairy products or brands that you have used and enjoyed!
